A Feldenkrais Method Awareness Through Movement (ATM) workshop with Nick Strauss-Klein at The Marsh, in Minnetonka, MN, just off I-494

Reduce hip and back pain, and feel more comfort, clarity, and ease in all kinds of day-to-day and athletic movements! Our hips are one of the largest and most powerful joints in the body. In addition to propelling us in walking and running, they’re also responsible for much of the intricate equilibrium of our posture, balance and stability. In this Feldenkrais workshop you’ll learn how to better sense and coordinate the deep muscles of your abdomen and back with the large and small muscles of your legs and hips.
All Nick’s workshops include a follow-up email for participants with notes and principles from the workshop, and text and audio resources to continue your learning at home.

Open to the public, ages 16+. No experience necessary. The only prerequisites are being able to safely get down to lie on a mat on the floor and get back up again, and fluency in aural English (group Feldenkrais is taught verbally, not with visual modeling; instead of copying the instructor you learn to move in the best way for you). Movement explorations are done gently and reflectively, usually while lying on a mat in various positions.
If your habitual ways of moving are working against you, to the point that you are breaking down more than you are able to restore yourself, then this is the class for you. But it is also for any person, of any movement skill level, who wants to learn how to attend more deeply to how they create, initiate, and engage in movement. These lessons are highly integrative in helping you move with the quality and ease you want for your life.

Nick Strauss-Klein is a full-time Guild Certified Feldenkrais Teacher and 2006 graduate of the New York Feldenkrais Method Professional Training Program. In addition to his one-to-one Functional Integration practice, Nick has taught thousands of hours of group Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement classes and workshops.
